The National Center for Higher Education Management System (NCHEMS) defines college graduation rates in six years as a “percentage of first-time full-time bachelor’s degree-seeking students earning any formal award (certificate, associate, or bachelor's degree) within six years” from institutions participating in Title IV federal financial aid programs. The calculation does not account for cases where students transferred across institutions. The original data is collected by NCHEMS from the National Center for Educational Statistics.
