In an Oct. 25 letter to the editor in the Chicago Sun-Times, Elizabeth Austin of Innovation Illinois took the Illinois Policy Institute to task for allegedly cherry-picking data “showing” Illinois to be a high-tax state, compared to its neighbors.  Austin criticized how IPI used fiscal 2013 data based on an inflated Illinois “temporary” income tax rate that has since declined significantly.
