Higgins says the legislation would also raise the federal debt ceiling by another 15 trillion dollars. … The disaster relief assistance is contained in a continuing resolution that would keep the federal government operating for a few months beyond September 30th. ‘I don’t have a problem supporting a short-term CR, I don’t like it, but I have voted for them in the past, and I would here too, but I definitely would not vote to increase the debt limit,’ said Higgins.”
